Baby bump!

So the baby bump is definitely pronounced... something to get used to that's for sure! Quite often I feel self concious about it but that's because it's in the inbetween place where it doesn't quite look like I'm pregnant but more like maybe I'm just not taking care of myself. I am in my 15th week of pregnancy.

The time has gone by so quickly! I am just hoping that the last part of the third trimester (when I'm really big and can't sleep) goes by just as quickly. My goal for the last few weeks of pregnancy is to get as much sleep as possible. It is proven that women who get at least 7 hours of sleep a night/day during the last few weeks of pregnancy lessen their labor by 11 hours!!!

God is so great! He created my body to take over and make this baby. Conception to birth is a miracle. My body is going through all these changes and it just adapts so well and seems so natural. Everyday I put my hand on my stomach trying to connect with the baby and pray for the baby. I can't wait till I can feel the baby move even more!!

Heartbeat

We heard the baby's heart beat today!! It was just for a few seconds and then the baby moved and we couldn't hear it anymore. The doctor said next time we will definitely be able to hear it. I found out that I will have to get the Rh antibodies shot later in the pregnancy due to my o- blood type. But other than that, the baby is doing really well! I'm still fitting into my clothes even though at home I really enjoy my looser fitting selections.

So, the count down is on until the sonogram. Is it a boy or a girl? Sean and I are thinking it's a boy but for me, it doesn't matter either way. I just want a healthy baby! And an easy painless delivery... I can hope, right?

12 weeks tomorrow!

I will be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow! The time flies by so fast! Sean has come down with a bad bad case of the flu. Unfortunately, I have to stay away from him till he's all better. Hopefully he will be all better by Sunday cause we are supposed to go to Sea World with my parents and sisters! The baby's first trip to a theme park! =o) Unfortunately, I will not be able to ride some of the rides including Krackin which is supposed to be an awesome roller coaster. Sean and I are self proclaimed roller coaster enthusiasts. I will have to stand next to the roller coaster and feel the breeze as he goes by me at 75 mph! Ah!

I think sometimes maybe I feel the baby. Just the slightest little fluttery kind of feeling once in a while! So exciting. I never thought I would say this (because the thought of something moving inside me always freaked me out) but I can't wait till I can feel the baby even more. Then I can' wait for Sean to be able to feel the kicks! It's just different when I have this life growing inside of me and I pray for the baby and protect it all the time. The baby is always on my mind. I went to the pet store yesterday to get a 40 lb. bag of dog food. I asked if there was a guy there to carry it out for me and this tiny little girl said no but she will do it. I felt so bad but she insisted. Walking out, I told her I'm not carrying it cause I'm pregnant. She looked at me and said, oh, so you're about 5 months? Ah! No! I'm like not quite 4 months. Yikes! I hope I'm not that big already!

THIRSTY!!

I am SO thirsty. All the time. So then I drink a lot and am running to the bathroom A LOT. Yesterday I drank this huge 3 liter jug of water and was still thirsty. Today seems to be heading th same way. Yesterday I was laying on the couch after work and I felt something in my abdomen and it made me actually jump cause I didn't know what it was. It kinda freaked me out. Today I thought maybe I've felt something a few times that's different than the normal "change" feelings. Hmm... I don't know. It's quite early to be feeling the baby move but there again the thinner someone is the earlier they can feel it. Either way, it's very exiting! Sean and I are still waiting to hear back from Medicaid... keeping high hopes and covering it with lots of prayers!!!!

I am 10 weeks pregnant!

Here's how the baby is doing...

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

It's amazing to hear what is going on right now inside of my body. I definitely feel pregnant! Luckily, I've stayed away from nausea. I get really really exhausted, headaches sometimes, and crampy. In the past week I've found that sometimes I can be more emotional. My stomach has a definite "pouch". It's noticable to my family and close friends, whom know I'm pregnant but I don't look actually "pregnant" yet. Enjoy it while I can right! I keep thinking of the things that I do now that I won't be able to do in a bit like painting my toes! The time goes by quickly too. I'm at 1o weeks now and it seems like we just found out we were pregnant. Sean is being so patient and caring. He prays for the baby and I. He even changes that cat litter box! He has written a song for the baby too. He is going to be such a great dad! Our next appointment is Feb 8th. We will get to hear the heart beat then!

Week 8

pregnancy calendar

So I'm 8 weeks and 4 days today. Last week I started feeling pretty good. My energy came back up and I felt more like myself. This week changed a little though. I'm back to fully enjoying my naps and have to pretty much make myself get off the couch! I'm trying to go walking on a regular basis. I can notice a difference in my waistline and Sean didn't hesitate at pointing that out either. Though most people say they don't see anything yet. I might as well enjoy it cause before I know it I'm going to be lugging around a big belly! Oh my, I can't even imagine.

I have my first doctor appointment this Friday! Wish me luck! =o)

Christmas is here!

It doesn't really feel much like Christmas but I suppose that is because there are so many other things grabbing my attention lately. The baby is causing more symptoms to rise.... definitely letting me know he/she is there! Hopefully it is not a predecessor to what will come in the next few weeks! I am at week 6 now (my prediction).

Sean's and my friend had their baby 2 months early. We went to the hospital last night to see them and we got to go into the NICU and see little Jacob. He is just so cute and an absolute miracle. It's a little difficult to imagine having a baby like that 8 months from now. While we were at the hospital visiting, we found out one of our friends was there getting a biopsy done for some lumps in the lymphnodes in his chest. It turns out he has lumps all over his body. The doctor was thinking it would be lymphoma but it turns out it is cancer. They are going to run more tests and find out what type of cancer and what stage. Please pray for Matt and his wife Stacie. Pray for wisdom for the doctors.
