THIRSTY!!

I am SO thirsty. All the time. So then I drink a lot and am running to the bathroom A LOT. Yesterday I drank this huge 3 liter jug of water and was still thirsty. Today seems to be heading th same way. Yesterday I was laying on the couch after work and I felt something in my abdomen and it made me actually jump cause I didn't know what it was. It kinda freaked me out. Today I thought maybe I've felt something a few times that's different than the normal "change" feelings. Hmm... I don't know. It's quite early to be feeling the baby move but there again the thinner someone is the earlier they can feel it. Either way, it's very exiting! Sean and I are still waiting to hear back from Medicaid... keeping high hopes and covering it with lots of prayers!!!!

I am 10 weeks pregnant!

Here's how the baby is doing...

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

It's amazing to hear what is going on right now inside of my body. I definitely feel pregnant! Luckily, I've stayed away from nausea. I get really really exhausted, headaches sometimes, and crampy. In the past week I've found that sometimes I can be more emotional. My stomach has a definite "pouch". It's noticable to my family and close friends, whom know I'm pregnant but I don't look actually "pregnant" yet. Enjoy it while I can right! I keep thinking of the things that I do now that I won't be able to do in a bit like painting my toes! The time goes by quickly too. I'm at 1o weeks now and it seems like we just found out we were pregnant. Sean is being so patient and caring. He prays for the baby and I. He even changes that cat litter box! He has written a song for the baby too. He is going to be such a great dad! Our next appointment is Feb 8th. We will get to hear the heart beat then!

Week 8

pregnancy calendar

So I'm 8 weeks and 4 days today. Last week I started feeling pretty good. My energy came back up and I felt more like myself. This week changed a little though. I'm back to fully enjoying my naps and have to pretty much make myself get off the couch! I'm trying to go walking on a regular basis. I can notice a difference in my waistline and Sean didn't hesitate at pointing that out either. Though most people say they don't see anything yet. I might as well enjoy it cause before I know it I'm going to be lugging around a big belly! Oh my, I can't even imagine.

I have my first doctor appointment this Friday! Wish me luck! =o)
