Hailey's kicks & registry

So I'm starting to feel Hailey move around more and more. Most of the time it's just a light thump but sometimes she gives and kick harder than the rest and I jump, squeek and giggle. Sean witnessed it for the first time last night on the couch while we were watching a movie. Hailey had been moving around a lot and each time Sean tried to feel she would stop. So I just lightly poked back at her to see what she would do... I think she likes to play games. She kicked and I jumped and squeeked. Sean looked at me so weird and then laughed. I can't wait till he can feel her moving!

We registered at Target and Babies-R-Us today. I've posted below the crib bedding we chose. It was a long day. I'm going to go back and register for a few more things as Sean was excited but getting a tad bit anxious to get home. I think I'm going to change a few things as I want to make sure they coordinate well!

Some pregnancy humor...

Pregnancy Questions & Answers:

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Hailey Hope Canada

So over the weekend Sean and I decided on the name for our baby girl, Hailey Hope. Hailey means "hero." We were going to register this weekend but things got a little too chaotic. Hopefully next weekend can register at Target and Babies R us. I wore my first maternity dress yesterday for Easter. Slowly but surely my belly is getting bigger. I still can't imagine it crazy huge! At least it's a slow process instead of a one day shocker! Sean said it would be weird if it was like the aliens in the movie who grow a baby in 24 hours or at least it's not like an elephant whom carries a fetus for 3 years! Next week I will be half way through the pregnancy. It's just unreal how time has flown.

Hailey, your father and I can't wait to hold you in our arms, to love you as Christ loves you and to show you who God is and how wonderfully He has made you!

Girl names and dog doo...

So Sean and I settled before we even got pregnant on a boy name but for a girl, we just had some difficulty. Still we haven't chosen a name yet! We have found a few that we like but nothing has settled with us yet. Right now we call her baby girl or baby.

I'm going to have to get some belly pics! I really don't have any which is dissapointing that I can't watch how my stomach has grown over the past few months. I am in maternity tops now. Still wearing my bella band and regular pants. Oh the changes that happen when one get's pregnant!

So this morning I woke up early to have a relaxing morning before I have to go to work. I opened the bedroom door and smelled this aweful smell! What is that?! Turned to my right to look into the living room and there on the floor even though it was dark I could see quite a bit of dog doo on the carpet. Michael was just sitting there looking at me. Ugh! Not again! (He has been doing this SO much) I just went to take a shower and deal with it after I calm down. (Or it maybe I was hoping Sean would pick it up!) A few minutes later I hear Sean yelling so I knew he found it. He came in the bathroom and said that it's picked up all I gotta do is run this spot carpet cleaning machine. But when I got out of the shower and looked in the light at the marks on the carpet, it was about a 15 foot stretch of dog diarrea marks. I just cried and cried. It's the very last thing that I wanted to do and it just seems to never go away. And I just got my house nice and clean. My husband of course then took the machine and cleaned the carpet the best he could.

I guess I could look at it as practice but german shephard diarrea would probably be considered a much grander level.

It's a girl!

So Sean's heart is already melted. We are having a girl! She is precious! She was just relaxing with her hands behind her head and her head resting on my bladder!! She moved around a bit and then went to sleep. This morning I could feel her moving all over the place and I feel her moving some now. The pictures came out great. I have posted a few of them.

She looks very healthy and the tech said she is surprised at how much we could see being 17 weeks. A very strong heart with four chambers, all fingers and toes. =o) We couldn't be happier! Take a look....

Baby's Heart Beat

Check out the link below to hear the baby's heart beat! We also recorded it and put it in a teddy bear for the baby! I think we are pretty set on the name Aiden for a boy but not quite sure about a girl name yet. We are thinking about Arianna or Hailey.

So this is a BIG week! Wednesday we go for the ultrasound. Thursday is my 25th bday (I think I'm going bowling!) and then Friday is my mom's two full body scans to make sure the cancer has not spread to anywhere else. Please keep her in your prayers.

Sean is so excited! I read online last night that now the baby can hear things and will respond to large sounds by jumping. Sean is going to start playing music to the baby and he talked to the baby last night... he says my belly button is the microphone.

Sonny's???

Okay so most of the time Sean and I agree on places to eat but Sonny's is not one of them. He doesn't even suggest it anymore cause I just don't like it. But today, I had an extreme craving for Sonny's. Strange!

Today was also monumental I guess you could say. Today the first stranger whom did not know I was pregnant just suddenly asked me when I was due. It took me off guard and I said "What?!" and then was like "Oh... um... August." I guess I will have to get used to it!

Tomorrow I get to go hear the baby's heart beat again but this time for longer. My mom is going with me! Then Wednesday we get the sonogram done!

The strangest dream yet...

So since I've been pregnant, I have had some weird dreams... weirder than normal. Last night's dream topped them all so far. I was dreaming that I was sleeping and the baby moving woke me up. Then suddenly the baby was dancing around the room. I was confused and said "What are you doing? You aren't supposed to be out here yet!" The baby replied "I'm just playing, I'll go back when I'm done!" and continued to dance around. Then eventually the baby was suddenly back in my stomach. So weird! Lol!

Today I also got some challenging news. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer today. The goes to the doctor on Thursday to find out more information and the next step to take. I'm trusting in God. The timing is difficult given that I'm preparing for a baby and at the same time my mom is going to be going through treatments. But, God knew the timing so I've gotta trust in Him that He is in control. I know challenges are ahead but I plan to face them full force.
