The Famous Onesie

Some of you may have heard about the "Ramones Onesie" story. But, for those of you who haven't and for Hailey to read later, I am pleased to share this famous Canada story.

I have had Hailey's first outfit for a while now... actually since Sean and I were dating. Let me explain. When Sean and I were dating, he came to my house one day and said he got me somehing. I was very excited! He handed me a Hot Topic bag, a place where we both love to shop. I pulled out a Ramones onesie out of the bag. I asked him "What is this?!" and he said "Oh, I got that shirt for you. I saw it and thought it would look good on you." I said, "Sean, this is a onesie for an baby." Sean replied, "What? How?!" I showed him the snaps on the bottom, let alone the size. Then I showed him the tag that said 6 months. "Oh" Sean said. We laughed a lot and my family loved ragging on him too. Lol. Needless to say, I kept the onesie not knowing what the future will hold. It has been a running joke for years now. It will be very exciting the day I can put it on Hailey!!
Hailey:
She is doing great! Growing and getting stronger. I am 29 weeks pregnant now. Sean and I were walking in Target last night looking at all the cute things for her. I just wish I could give her something now! Like a toy to play with or something. I just can't wait. I have 11 weeks to go!
It has gotten a little harder to sleep. But I was worn out yesterday I got a good nights sleep. Thursday night I slept only two or three hours all together. Then Friday I worked, went swimming, went to Sweet Tomatoes with my hubby and walked around Target. Then we went to Cranes Roost and walked around the entire lake! I was wobbling and so happy to get home!
The Nursery:
Sean and I have worked hard on the nursery this weekend. Sean put the changing table up and I organized more. We took the TV out of the spare bedroom. It is looking more like a nursery now. I'm picking up the gliding rocking chair from my parents today. I am very fortunate that they are giving me the one they have!

Finally, BIG watermelons!!!

Publix has big watermelons for $5!!!! They are SO good! I bought one yesterday and my second one today. It is so much fun digging through the pile and finding the "eat me now" one. I felt so bad but today this one in the back was just calling my name so the manager crawled back there and got it for me! How kind!

I found this picture.... is this really possible? In fact, it is! The Japanese farmers wanted to save space for them on the fields and us in our fridges. They figured out how to grow their watermelons in a square. Don't believe me? Check out this link...

Look at the cute things that can be done with watermelon... this is watermelon dippers!

A poem I found:

Running errands and talking on the phone, I am pleasantly reminded that I am not alone. Little tiny hands a precious rounded kneepushing and twisting that no one can see. Oh sweet child kicking up your heels, it is our little secret that only I can feel. I look forward to your birth, when I can kiss your skin, but for now I will just smile, As I feel you play within.

Hailey:

Hailey has her days where she is quiet and they times when she is just having a blast. I sat down to type this blog, she started doing flips! She gets the hiccups a lot too. My mom (Nana) was rubbing my stomach earlier today and Hailey came to the front of my belly and pushed. It was so cute. It is neat to see how she responds even from inside the womb. On Thursday I was in a Microsoft class all day and very bored. Hailey was moving around so I started playing with her and she kept me quite entertained! We played patty cake!

I have had an issue with the cats getting in Hailey's crib. I heard cats don't like foil so I put foil in the crib on Friday and when I came home from work, I found one spot where you can see that the cat landed and then jumped straight out! Lol! I wish I could have gotten that on video!

The crib is up!

Sean put up the crib this weekend!! I've posted some pics of it. We are still working on the rest of the room. Sean came in after I had decorated the crib and freaked out! It's just another one of those reality moments... we are going to be putting our baby in here! In just a few months no less! We are so excited!

Thanks so much to Helaine for the crib, bed set, changing table (still to be put up) and the mattress! It looks great!

Hailey is 27 weeks along. She is very active and already expanding my ribs! Ouch! I'm getting ready to start my homestretch count down... the last 3 months. I'm looking forward to start swimming this week. It shall feel great to cool off and just float!! I'm also counting down till the official watermelon season starts. Do I talk about watermelon a lot? Sorry! I'm just SO looking forward to it!

Labor fears: Yes, they are starting! Oh my! Last time I saw the doc he said "Just remember one word when you go into labor... epidural!" I said "Well, I'm going to try and go without." And then he laughed. How about I have birth plan #1 and #2?? =o) We'll see how strongwilled I am about this one!

My mom started chemo last Thursday. She has been doing well. Today was a bit difficult for her but we are staying optimistic that she has better days ahead. Thanks for all your prayers!

Not Recommended: Catching a cold while you are pregnant!

Finally, I am feeling better from a cold! It was nasty!! I mean, colds are never fun but add being pregnant to it and it's even worse! So not much has been done around here in the past week. Just been living life very simple and doing the necessities. My husband is so nice to help out. He really has stepped up!

I must give a shout out to my friend Angela Shaw. She told me to put Vick's vapor rub on the bottom of my feet and it helps with chest congestion. She was right! Thanks Angela!!

Hailey is doing really great! She is 26 weeks now. The doctor said on Friday she is just the right size. She sits as a ball on my stomach. Makes me look bigger cause she just pops out there but I'd rather that than be big all over!! Hailey moves around a lot. She is very active. She loves taking her feet and dragging them along my stomach. So weird to watch and feel!!

Sean will sit and rub my belly in a circular motion while we watch tv. The other night Hailey came right up to where he was rubbing and seemed to push her hole side into Sean's hand. He was so excited! I said she is definitely a daddy's girl!

As we feel and see Hailey move and the time gets closer when we expect her to come, the reality sets in more and more that we are going to be parents. It can be a scary thought because of the responsibility and we are afraid of making mistakes that will effect someone else's life. But it's so exciting! I just can't wait to hold her and take care of her! Every time I think about holding Hailey in my arms for the first time, I hear a part of a David Crowder song that says "The world will never be the same" and I tear up. The reality is that the world could really change because of her, because of what God does through her. Who knows the plans He has for her. Sean and I want to direct her in the way of God so that she fulfills every plan God has for her. The fact that I get to take part in that is humbling and I am grateful.

Hailey at 25 weeks...

The Baby Your baby is now so large that he no longer floats freely in the amniotic fluid. He can move in all directions, however, and he is still a long way away from reaching his final position for delivery. At one moment, he is entirely to the right at the bottom and the next instant he is entirely in the upper part of your tummy. But you can really feel it when he turns and changes positions. Your health care provider (HCP) can tell you exactly how you can best feel your child yourself and what you have to pay attention to. You may see also that your baby comes to your hand if you lay it on your abdomen.

For the next month or so, your baby's brain will be growing at its fastest rate. Some pregnant women like to eat "brain food," which includes foods high in essential fatty acids like flax seeds, walnuts, fish, grass-fed beef, and eggs. Check to see which fish are safest to eat in your area.

It is possible for your partner or child to hear baby's heartbeat from approximately 28 weeks on using a toilet paper roll. The best spot to hear the little one's heartbeat is approximately four inches (ten centimeters) under the navel. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't work immediately. Simply try again a week later. Or take your partner with you on your check-up. Then you both can hear how his little heart beats twice as fast as your heart. From now on you'll have check-ups more often anyway, because your ever-growing abdomen will ask more of you physically. attention.

3 1/2 months to go!

Last night Sean played at Volcanos Coffee shop in Uptown Altamonte. He did so great! Completely outshown all the other musicians there. Not that I'm partial or anything. =o) But really, he was the first one to go up and the musicians after him were like "it's hard going after this guy, he is great!" and "How are we going to play after that guy?!" I'm so proud of my husband! Hailey and I had Volcanos Vanilla Lavalicious... decaf over ice. It is SO good! I like any of Volcanos coffee. I encourage you to try it if you haven't yet!

Sean is going to be playing again in two weeks... May 15th if you want to stop by!

The picture below is some place in Russia but I just thought it was so beautiful that I would share it!

Hailey:

She is doing great. Tumbling, kicking and just having fun. Some days she is much more active than others. Probably depends on what I eat too and what I do. Sean tried shining a flash light on my stomach the other night to "see" Hailey. He was disappointed when it didn't work. Lol. The other night we were watching American Idol and Hailey started moving a lot. Sean would tap on my stomach and Hailey would respond back. They did this back and forth. It was so cute! Like she is playing with us!!

Mom:

I am doing very good. I have some back pain that really bugs me sometimes. I've just gotta stretch more. It's sometimes difficult to adjust to the changes my body is going through but I'm trying to cooperate. If only my butt and thighs would cooperate with me! Lol. They seem to have a mind of their own.

I have 3 1/2 months to go until Hailey's due date! I'm continuing my project of fixing up the nursery this weekend. Moving furniture (I'll just direct where it's gonna go) and creative organizing/storage.
