Hailey's 3D/4D Ultrasound....

Well, good news and bad news. Want the good news first? Okay... she's still head down and ready to go. Bad news... she is so far head down that they couldn't get a pic of her face! The tech said she is as far as she can get and pushed up against the walls and my bladder! She was also crunched in a ball. We got to see some of her hands and part of a leg. She was moving around like crazy! He couldn't even confirm that she was a girl because she was so scrunched!! And the good pics we could have gotten he couldn't capture quick enough cause she was moving so much.

Thank you so much to Angela Shaw who put my name in the drawing. It was still a fun experience. They gave me a diaper bag full of stuff and some skin stuff for pregnant women cause he felt bad that he couldn't get any good pics. It's okay though... I was expecting it cause she feels really low. It's a very nice place.... Moms-To-Be off of Turkey Lake Road. I definitely recommend it. Spa atmosphere, very relaxing and professional. The table was so comfortable too. The tech was so nice and I think his wife works the front desk.

Hailey is full term?!

From BabyCenter.com ....
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, her lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Oh my... with Sean's hair who knows what she's going to come out with!!!

Hailey:
She is sometimes very active and then sometimes calm. But usually several times a day she gets a little confused on which way the baby shoot is and tries to come out my side... ouch!

Mom:
My husband has been doing great taking care of me. I'm still swelling but it's not as bad today. Actually I did some reflexology last night on myself and it's been better since then.

I won (thanks to Angela Shaw =o) ) a 4D sonogram that I'm getting this wednesday! I'm VERY excited!! Will post pics as soon as I get them!!! (I figure the pics will be a great focus object during labor)

It's overwhelming to think that in just a matter of weeks Sean and I will have a little one to take care of. We are very excited but it's just hard to picture. I look at her crib and the rocking chair all the time. Everything is ready for her! We have been spending so much time expecting her, I just can't wait to hold her!! I know our lives are going to change but I know it is God's will and He is going to do many things in and through Hailey. I am confident that God will impart to Sean and I everything we need to be the parents He has called us to be. I know we will not perfect but we will do the best we can. Sean is going to be a fantastic dad!! Ah! Sean a dad! Ah! Just typing those two words together are strange yet awesome! Hehe. My dad says Sean is going to come out of the delivery room with his huge smile... I can just see it now!

We will try and post during the delivery and after so everyone can stay updated. My sister is going to bring her laptop. I will be in Florida Hospital Altamonte. The Baby Place there was just completely remodeled.... it's very nice!! Flat screen tv's in each room, brand new everything... they even have the baby stay with the mom 99.9% of the time (I always thought the baby had to stay in the nursery). They have a photo studio, delivery rooms with jetted tubs and enough room for the dady to stay overnight if he wants.

"I thought diapers just go in a diaper bag?" - Sean

I'm 36 weeks pregnant... starting month 9!

This is what one site says:

How your baby's growing: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)

Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Hailey's doc appointment:
This past Wednesday the doctor confirmed that Hailey is head down! He didn't say anything more besides that her heart beat was good. Starting this coming week I have to go every week until I deliver.

Sometimes Hailey is active... I think she spins on her head or something. But most of the time her movements are subtle but enough that I feel her and know she is okay.

Mom:

I'm doing good... poor husband though... I think he has had to live through a few pregzilla moments in the past week. Sorry! I sleep good for the most part and when I wake up generally, I can get back to sleep. Sometimes I wake up way early in the morning and decide to go head and stay up because just as I get into a nice sleep, my alarm clock will go off and I won't want to get up!

Funny Sean comments:

CANKLES!! Ah! I have them! And my fingers swelled up just enough that I couldn't fit my wedding bands on. It goes up and down. I showed Sean my cankles and he said "As long as they are gone by about 4 months after Hailey is born, I don't care." I'm like "What do you think this is? Fat?!" He said "I don't know!" I said laughed and said "This is swelling! It will go down after Hailey is born." (Will that excuse work for my butt too?)

I was packing the diaper bag tonight for the hospital and Sean came in and saw what was in it... diapers, swaddle blanket, 2 changes of clothes for Hailey, binky, etc. He said "What is all this stuff in here? I thought just diapers go in a diaper bag?" Lol! I said "No hun, it's everything you need for the baby while you are out of the house." Oh my! We're in for a doozie people!

The Ultimate Dog Gladiator Challenge!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit! It's just so darn hot out there. When I come home I try to get my chores done so I can just veg on the couch! (and chow on the ice cold watermelon!!!)

My mother-in-law is getting me a pedicure this weekend! I just can't wait!! The other night I was attempting to pretty up my feet, sitting on the edge of the bed, kinda twisted like was the only way I could possibly reach and then I got the hugest braxton hicks contraction.... I was stuck!! Lol! I wasn't going anywhere. Luckily Sean came in and saved the day.

I know I promised pics here soon... they are still in the works. The nursery has to be straightened up some more and I'm getting pregnancy pics done probably in a week!

Update on Hailey:
My stomach has gotten bigger... if you can imagine. I think Hailey sleeps when I sleep or I'm just a very, very hard sleeper cause she doesn't wake me up moving around at all. No complaints... I'm very happy about that! Now, if I can only get my bladder to cooperate then it will be all good!

My friend Stacey who is a labor and delivery nurse said last weekend that Hailey was about 4.6 lb. and was head down! I like to hear that she is head down cause I definitely don't want a breech baby. Just as long as she waits until after Aug. 1st I'm happy!

I'm just so excited to be able to see her soon and to hold her. I feel more motherly instincts coming. I'm not nervous at all about becoming a mom. I know that as she grows, Sean and I will grow and learn.

The animals:
Many have asked how we are going to deal with the animals and Hailey. Especially huge Michael, our german shephard. We think Michael is going to react well... being protective over Hailey. We are only concerned because he is so big and goofy that he may accidently hurt her when he gets too excited. For the first part we are going to keep them separated and of course whenever Hailey is on the floor, Michael will be put away so no accidents happen.

Skittles on the other hand is a different story. I am concerned at how she is going to react to Hailey. She has been quite stubborn and aggressive lately. She started chewing up my clothes when we aren't home!! So we started locking her up in the kitchen with Michael. Then she figured out how to climb over the gate, so I put her on a leash and tied it to the table in the kitchen. Then she wined so long and loud that it was bothering us and our neighbors. We left the gate up and backed up two dining room chairs to the gate so she couldn't climb over. We thought "Ha! You can't get out now!!". Oh, but we were wrong, so very wrong! We came home and she was out yet from what we could see, the gate was still intact and the chairs exactly how we left them. How did she get out?! The pieces of chewed up gate on the kitchen floor was the first hint. Yes, she chewed a hole thew the gate!!! The darn little dog was so proud of herself too. Ugh. We have since gotten a very high metal gate... THE ULTIMATE DOG GLADIATOR CHALLENGE!! Muahaha! Tune in next time to see what happens!

From Hailey Canada to Jacob Shaw

Jacob posted a letter to Hailey which you can view at http://www.shaw-family.blogspot.com/

This is Hailey's reply:

Dear Mr. Future Right/Player/Who do yous think yous is?,

It's going to take more than a grin, BABY blue eyes, a new binky and a puff of baby powder to get ahold of my huggies. I am high maintenance and high class just look at my mommy.... and daddy. You're going to have to do more than just sit in your bumbo and toss me the baby talk to get my affections. You gotta work it.

1. I expect candle lit bottle feedings while being serenaded by the finest baby mobiles.
2. I don't go for the Tonka toys... I dig the power wheels.
3. I need gifts - and don't try to pull Fisher-Price, I accept Baby Einstein and Baby Gap only.
4. I'm not too worried about you dressing sharp, you probably take from your daddy but we
gotta work on the hair.
5. Finally, I won't be sharing a playpen with any other chicas. If this Ally or Rebekah wants
to go, we'll go! We'll meet at the sand box at 2:oo p.m. ( no earlier because that's nap time,
and I must have my beauty sleep. We don't want a DIVA moment do we? )

I will admit Mommy says you are a cutie patootie, so I'll give you a go. When i get on the
outside maybe we could hook up. We could meet up at the church changing tables. I'll let you
buy me a juicy juice ( i Prefer wild berry ). If you play your baby cards right i might let you
share a nap mat with me.

Anyway, look forward to seeing you on the other side tiny tike.

p.s. Wait for me? circle yes or no
