This week in the Canada household...

I love those pics of Hailey! They were taken with Sean's iPhone. Yes, my husband got an iPhone for his early birthday from his parents. The "other woman" as Carrie refers to Rick's iPhone. Sean named his "Candy".

I'm trying to do things that stimulate Hailey. One website I found had suggestions including sticking out my tongue and she will imitate me. I tried it and it works! I have such a smart baby! She is laughing, smiling and beginning to coo. So cute! I also walk Hailey around the house showing her things. She studies them and when she gets bored she starts fussing and I show her something else.

Next week I plan to start back to work for a couple days. I only plan to be part-time and maybe do some work from home. I'm very grateful I work for my father-in-law who is very understanding. =o) It shall be hard to leave Hailey but I know both of the grandmas, Nana and Mimi are very excited about the one on one time with her.

Martha Stewart has behives and I thought it would be so cool to have one. I can actually go online and order the bees! Sean said no and I tried explaining the importance of everlasting honey supply. So far I haven't made progress...

This article link talks about sweet smells while one is sleeping can cause pleasant dreams. Now, it's a fact that people let out an average of 1.5 leters of fart everyday. Most of this is while we are sleeping. So when I have funky dreams can I blame it on Sean's taco bell lunch??

Hailey's revenge

Sean got stitches! Six stitches to be exact. He was working and some tile broke and fell cutting his leg. Luckily it didn't bleed too bad and he was able to get to a CentraCare and get it taken care of quickly.

Hailey is smiling a lot more. She has times where she is so alert! Then other times when she is so hard sleep no matter what you do she won't wake up! Sean likes to play with her like she is a little "Yoda" when she is like that. It's so funny. I have video of it. One day I'll get it up here! Hailey went to her first youth group tonight. She loved the flashing lights when the music was playing. Never took her eyes off them. She was very good the whole time. Yesterday we went to Children's Orchard, Chick-fl-a and to visit her great grandfather. It was a long afternoon but she was great the entire time. When we got home I knew she was tired. She fought nap time for about 15 minutes and then gave in.

HAILEY'S REVENGE...
Hailey sleeps through the night great. Since I started rocking her to sleep, she goes to sleep around 10 - 10:30 PM and sleeps until about 5:30 AM then sleeps again till about 9:30 AM. Sometimes she won't go to sleep till around 12:30 or 1:00 AM and then she will sleep until 9 or 9:30 AM. I've felt lucky to be getting so much sleep at night. But she took revenge last Sunday night. She didn't sleep a wink the WHOLE NIGHT. Not kidding you. Really. I was up from 6:30 AM Sunday morning till 12:30 PM Monday. Hailey finally went to sleep at 8 AM Monday morning but she had a doctor's appointment so I couldn't finally go to sleep, instead I had to get her things ready and try to make myself look decent. I tried EVERYTHING to get her to go to sleep. She just refused. She had a full belly, tummy time (tried to get her tired), we went driving, we rocked, diaper changes, singing, walking, massage, music, burping, gas medicine, everything!!!

Sean and I were getting married! Right about this time I was getting into my wedding dress. Reflecting on the past four years, God has moved greatly in Sean's and my life. We have learned more about love, forgiveness, perseverance and sacrifice. Sean is a wonderful husband whom I don't want to take for granted. He sacrifices many things for me and now, our beautiful baby Hailey. Sean always tells me he loves me, everyday. He brings laughter to me everyday. He works hard. He prays hard and seeks God. He makes a great breakfast. He thinks about me and knows the things I like. He stands up for me and is there to comfort and support me. Oh, I could just go on and on!

Just a few pictures from 4 years ago...

What happens when Sean and Blake try to light the grill?

Yeah, they tried to light it.... literally! I was running for the fire extinguisher. Too bad I didn't get to spray it. Sean and Blake covered in white foam would have been a great picture too!

New Pictures!

Hailey is a little over 3 weeks old. She is so beautiful and we see more of her personality coming out. Sean and I are so proud of her. I love to take her out and show her off! =o)

Here are some pics from the past couple days and a small "photo shoot" a tried to do this morning with Hailey. That is, until she made a huge mess!

Not just a dirty diaper....

This was way more than just a dirty diaper!

Sean was holding Hailey the other night when she grunted and it was apparent a blow-out was in the near future. He rushed her to the changing table. Suddenly I hear Sean call me... more like desperately yelling for me. I came to the nursery door to see Sean holding Hailey's legs up and a big poo mess all over the changing table. Sean was a bit frantic. This gets better... then a huge geyser of pee goes straight up in the air all over Sean and at the same time poor Hailey vomited. Lol! I was on the floor laughing, holding my stomach! I've heard of these stories from friends but it's so different when it happens to you. Sorry Hailey but these must be documented! Sean was great though. He gave Hailey a bath while I cleaned up the changing table. Wait... I just thought about that. He left me with the messy part! Sneaky guy!!

There is a t-shirt that I think is hilariously great (check it out at the link below) but so far everyone that I have asked thinks it's stupid. I think it's a total "Kim & Jenny" shirt. Yes, I am a new mom but hence the above story... I think this shirt is perfect for new momness!! What do you think??

Finally, an update!

So sorry I haven't posted recently. I've been feeling a bit under the weather but I think I am getting better. =o) Our friends have been bringing us meals and it has been such a blessing! Thank you so much!! My family has been coming over and helping out around the house and with Hailey. Specifically, thank you to my mom and my mother-in-law who come and spend the day with Hailey and I.

Hailey is a wonderful baby. Overall she has a great temperment... as long as her tummy is full. She has become ravenous with food the past few days! She wants food, food and more food!! We fed her and fed her last night and then she laid back in Sean's arms, grunted, and had the "I'm festively plump" look on her face. I was telling Sean last night that we better take Hailey to church this Sunday so everyone can see her because if she keeps on eating the way she is, she's going to grow SO fast! I've already seen changes in her. She went to the doctor today and weighs 7 lb. 11 oz. She is almost back to her birth weight.

Sean is a great dad and husband! Of course, we all knew this already!! He has been staying up late and working extra long hours. He comes home from work exhausted and takes care of Hailey. He's gotten the diaper thing down better than I have! He is very intuitive with Hailey and has already learned her cries and knows what she wants. He says it already seems like she has been with us forever.
